Audi No Start after Refueling and Popping Noise from Trunk
Problem: Popping sounds from rear of the vehicle may be heard moments after starting the engine, or when slowing to a stop. Noise is from the leak detection pump filling the fuel tank with air, and releasing to retest the system when it finds a fault. The sequence of faults identifying this issue are as follows:
- Succession of loud pops from rear of vehicle;
- Pop noises go away, and fuel economy decreases;
- Check engine light on;
- OBD trouble code P2404 and/or P0441 is stored;
- Engine hard to start after refueling (must crank for over 30 seconds);
- Vibration when slowing to a stop;
The cause is a valve which is mounted on the front of the intake manifold, commonly called the N80 valve, or EVAP system purge valve. The valve is designed to open under specific circumstances, but a worn valve will remain open at all times, preventing the pressurization of the fuel tank.
Repair: Audi N80 EVAP system purge valve replacement.
Audi Lack of Power
Problem: Audi lack of power issue. Check Engine Light on with various throttle system fault codes. Generally caused by Audi throttle body electrical connection problems.
Repair: Audi check engine light diagnosis, Audi wiring harness repair. Audi tune up service.

Audi Engine No Start
Problem: No start condition with check engine light error code for fuel pressure sensor failure.
Repair: Audi fuel pressure sensor replacement.
Audi High Pressure Fuel Pump Failure
Problem: Audi check engine light, engine running roughly, and Audi loss of power. Some Audi models use direct fuel injection which requires very high fuel pressure. This high fuel pressure is produced by a high pressure mechanical fuel pump (HPFP) that is driven from the camshaft. The HPFP may fail due to damage from a defective camshaft. The defect causes abnormal wear of the mechanical barrier between the camshaft and the fuel pump. This barrier, the cam follower, will wear down and cause failure of the camshaft and the HPFP. Associated Check Engine Light codes may be P0300, P0301, P0302, P0303, P0304, P0087, P1093 and P2293. To help prevent Audi High Pressure Fuel Pump Failure from occurring the cam follower should be inspected every 10,000 to 15,000 miles.
Repair: Audi camshaft replacement, Audi high-pressure fuel pump replacement, and/or Audi cam follower replacement.
Audi model years affected: 2006, 2007, 2008 Audi 2.0L 4 Cylinder.
Audi Loss of Power
Problem: Audi Turbo Pressure Diverter Valve Diaphragm failure. The Audi 2.0T FSI and Audi 2.0TFSI engine lose power if the turbocharging system has a leak. The most common turbo boost leak is a torn turbo diverter valve diaphragm, which regulates turbo charger pressure. Common problems are increased Audi turbo noise when letting off of the gas pedal, Audi power loss, and Audi engine code P0234.
Repair: Audi turbocharge system inspection, and defective turbo seals and/or Audi turbo diverter valve replacement.
Audi Vehicles With This Problem: 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013.
Audi FSI and TFSI Engine Carbon Buildup
Problem: Audi direct injection engines are subject to carbon buildup in the intake system. This can cause power loss, check engine light OBD codes include: P0300, P0301, P0302, P0303, P0304, P0305, P0306.
Repair: Remove the intake manifold and clean intake manifold passages, cylinder head intake ports, and back side of the intake valves. This may need to be done as frequently as every 20,000 miles.

Problem: Audi ignition coil failure. Engine misfire may develop on one or more cylinders resulting in a loss of power and illumination of the Check Engine Light. Ignition coil failure is a common cause.
Repair: Ignition Coil Replacement. On high mileage vehicles we recommend replacing all ignition coils if one fails to avoid future misfire issues on another cylinder. Audi tune up service.
Audi Starting Problem
Problem: Fuel Injection air leaks and fuel injection problems may cause starting difficulties.
Repair: check for check engine error codes; inspect fuel injection system; Measure fuel pressure. Repair as required.
Audi Suspension Noise
Problem: Various system bushings used on the sub-frame, suspension, and steering deteriorate with age and cause noise. Clunking or squeaking noise is produced when driving over bumps, accelerating, or stopping.
Repair: Identify and replace work suspension bushings.
Audi Failed Constant Velocity (CV) Boot
Problem: Torn CV boot causes failure of CV half-shaft or CV joint failure.

Audi Oil Leak
Problem: External oil leak from the valley pan gasket (under the intake manifold) and/or the head gasket.
Repair: Head Gasket Replacement and/or Intake Manifold Gasket Replacement.
Audi CV Boots and CV Joint Failure
Problem: Constant velocity (CV) Boot failure which causes CV joint failure. We recommend Audi CV boot inspection and Audi CV joint inspection at each service. Servicing Audi torn CV boots early can prevent the need for Audi.
Audi Rattling Noise When Engine Cold
Problem: Dual Mass Flywheel Failure. The flywheel for the Audi A3 2.0L Turbo is a Dual Mass flywheel. It can make rattling noise when the engine is cold, and usually subsides once the engine temperature raises. If the rattle doesn't go away when the engine warms the flywheel may have failed.
Repair: The only solution is to replace the flywheel.
