This problem can reoccur and high-pressure fuel pump cam follower should be inspected every 10,000 - 15,000 miles.

Decreased Power and Fuel Economy from Carbon Buildup on Volkswagen Jetta

The 2006-2016 Volkswagen Jetta uses FSI and TSI direct injection engine. These engines have an intake system carbon buildup problem which can cause power loss, OBD codes and a check engine light, and a rough idle. Possible Volkswagen Jetta trouble codes include: P0300, P0301, P0302, P0303, P0304.

The solution is removing the intake manifold and cleaning the intake manifold internal passages, cylinder head intake ports, and the intake valves. This may need to be done in as few as 20,000 miles.

Over time, the bolts that secure the subframe stretch, allowing the subframe to move and hit the bottom of the car when accelerating.
